Spindles will drop the truck w/o changing the ride quality. Stock front coils on a 1/2 ton truck have a pretty decent ride quality so if you're not happy w/the current ride quality @ stock height, dropped coils will be the same or slightly more firm. Generally it's best to combine the 2 (3" spindle + 1 or 2" drop coil). But, combining the 2 adds to the cost so it depends on the budget. The rear can utilize shackles (2" drop) & hangers (2" drop) for a total of 4" drop or you can do a flip kit which yields between 5-6" drop depending on how many leafs are in the spring pack. Again, if your not happy w/the ride quality, these mods won't help it get better. The alternative is to swap the coils for air bags as they will typically offer better ride quality for a given amount of drop. Air ride definitely adds to the overall costs; how much just depends on how the air mgt system is done. Ride Tech offers pretty good 'kits' that have everything needed for the air ride install. That convenience comes w/a price but their kits are extemely well engineered & built. |

For a leaf truck set-up, I'd go spindles & Stones or RE-7's in front, & a F9000 tapered sleeve bag w/a 4-bar (for a better ride vs. your current leafs). |
