New Guy on the Forum

Hi gang! I have been reading the forum for about 6 months now. Inspired me to go out and buy my first Chevy C10. Its a 1986, 2wd, 350, etc. Took all my coin to buy it, so gonna have to save up so I can start making mods. Even though I am not a fan of the color, its a good solid truck and should be a good starting point.

With a truck that good looking I wouldn't worry too much about modifications right now.
It's looking way too good as it is(the color isn't bad at all):metal:
BTW; Is that an original midwestern truck or southern import? It looks soooo clean!!

Just enjoy it and do the mods as you roll along.:uhmk:

Anyway, there's alway something that can be done.......
Toying with my '86 too...

Its supposedly a Tennessee truck, but its titled in Michigan. Thats why I bought it, because Michigan is not good to trucks of this age. Its a solid truck. As far as the color, I am fan of black on vehicles. Black and Chrome just looks nice to me. Pain to keep clean, but man do they look sharp.

Thanks for the complements guys!

Re: New Guy on the Forum

The first mod I want to do is either a McGaughy's 4.5/6 inch static drop, or a DJM 5/5 inch static drop. Anyone have any input on either of these drops? The 5/5 looks like I don't have to C-Nothch the frame, but I am expecting there wouldn't be much room for travel unless you did a C-notch here . Anyone using them, and did they ride ok? Install fairly easy?

Great looking truck very clean.

Everyone has there opinions, but personally I prefer air ride. Every spring based lowered truck that I have been in was a pretty stiff and choppy ride. Air lets you get low and float along.

Not sure on the wheel and tire specs. I will look tomorrow. I assume they are 15 x 8 rims, and I will have to check on the tires. I was told by the previous owner that it has a Beltech 2" drop. It rides good, but I want it lower. Not looking to lay frame, just have that aggressive lowered stance.

Nice truck. I would save up the coin and just drive it as is. Enjoy it and do one project at a time. You have a good foundation to work off.

If it has drop spindles allready all you need is drop coils & a flip kit...

Good point! Save a little money instead of buying a whole kit.

Welcome! Your truck looks great. You can also save a little more by cutting a coil off of the original springs and then just doing a rear flip kit. That will get it down.
