Whatcha got?

Re: Racing Ad Pics
454, 700R4, 10 bolt
And you're running nitro through that 454? No problems with the 10 bolt? I was told my camaro 3.73 posi 10 bolt wouldn't hold up under a 400 hp 383. |

the small one is basically made of glass.. i personally have destroyed over 10 of them in my camaro. the larger one is stronger... but its not as strong as some other rear end options. in general, you do not want any 10bolt behind a high horsepower drag car.. but the larger 10bolt may live... the small one wont live long. |
Re: Racing Ad Pics
I have some video of mine at the track I will try to post later

Re: Racing Ad Pics
My mild 454 puts down 314 rwhp and 340 for torque and 440 rwhp and 600 for torque on 150 shot on a Mustang Dyno. This is through a 700R4 and 4.10's in the 8.5" 10 bolt. No complaints from the trans or rear end yet. I've seen 8 second cars with a 8.5 10 bolt. I think my truck is light enough, I've scaled it at 3420 lbs, and traction is not the best. I generally think you don't start breaking things until you get good traction or a lot of wheel hop.

sorry to say, thats the exact rear i exploded over and over. if you dont beat on it, it will work just fine. remember, they stuck these behind LS1s from the factory.. however, if you are drag racing it, or if you like to be rough on it, it will break. in fairness, all of mine that broke with two exceptions were on launch at the dragstrip... one broke on "launch" at on the street, and the other i think was built wrong, but it chewed it self up when i romped on it from about a 40mph roll. All of these were behind a 450hp LS motor with a T56 trans in a 3000lb car (3250 with me in it) |
Re: Racing Ad Pics
What kind of times do these run? Any idea on the race weight?
|
Re: Racing Ad Pics
Mine scaled at 3420 without me in it. 2200 on the front and 1220 on the rear:lol: I've only been to the 1/8th track with mine, 7.89 is my best on the motor and 7.14 on the spray (150 shot). I think thats around 12.50's on the motor and 11.30's on the spray. Traction is not my friend though:lol:
