American Autowire or Ez Wiring
I need to decide on a wiring harness for the truck. Painless is nice but too expensive and I have experience with them from an earler project. I have read about AAW and Ez and have heard good things about both and and very little bad things about Ez. The Ez 21 circuit is $185 and the AAW 20 circuit is $299, I would really like some input from anyone that has used either companies. Good or bad.

Re: American Autowire or Ez Wiring
American is the better of the two. I have installed a couple of their tri-5 kits. I had some problems with an EZ wire harness several years ago, the headlight circuit power supply was insufficient and burned out. Ez told me it was my problem not theirs. So I wouldn't do that again. Jay

Send a PM to Forum Vendor Capt Kaos. He is an AAW dealer and can answer your questions. I'm sure he will give you a great deal and awesome service if you decide to buy from him.

Re: American Autowire or Ez Wiring
We install american autowire in every car we build. Im the one that does all the wiring and I like there kits. They are extremely complete and can also be custom built for the circuits you need in your vehicle. I have never used the ex wiring kits but generally you get what you pay for. Wiring is not a place to try to save money. A car fire is usually fairly expensive.

Re: American Autowire or Ez Wiring
I used an EZ kit on my '71 p/u. It worked out just fine. I did put the headlights on a relay to avoid the high amp draw running through the harness. I was very impressed with it, for what I spent on it. Been in the truck for 4 years now, and no problems at all. Never used the AAW kit, so no advice on it.
