THERE! thats more like it . NOW get back in the car and don't wrinkle my leopard skin seats. :D OK, now for some ed-u-ma-cation which part do you need besides #1. notice i have included the correct technical description for each piece. GM sold these indicators in pieces at one time 1.) the position plate with slot (cam?) -black metal thingy with white letters & numbers . 2.) the cable- the thread like POS that breaks 3.) needle- The plastic pointy POS that breaks 4.) spring- miniature 'SLINKY' POS that breaks & goes booiiing. GM made 2 or 3 O/D indicators . mine is the type with the 'D' having a square around it for overdrive indication. they are interchangeable. they don't offer the orange needles anymore but I have some paint that matches pretty well to 73-79 color. last but not least the 'CAM' is in the engine and makes the lifters go up & down and causes a tickity noise.:D |
I have a plate exactly like Crossy's w/ P R N (D) D 2 1. The needle is broken, but the rest of it is in good shape. PM me if interested.

Dave, Im inclined to think its that orange pointer, but on my truck [getting kinda hard to remember with this old age :D] it was deff. green, and all I remember it doing is putting tension on the rubber band. It sits[sat] on the right side of the indicator.
None of that matters though. I want the setup in the picture! Or somthing very close. Got any avalible? |
your not getting old , your going NUTS!
green pointer? rubber band ??? are you sure your truck is a 73-80. or is that just what Fred Flintstone told you when it sold it to you.LOL you have home Email. DAVE |
