air conditioning tech. help/engien cooling,electerical?

ok,so my 78 silverado 4x4 is bein a pain in my butt!
im trying to get the air conditioning back on the truck(idiots before removed).
there is a pod thing on passenger side in the engine bay by the ac box thats missing a vacuum line or somethin off it?
what exactly does that do?

a/c brackets-what would be my cheapest way to go about getting these?

engine temp with ac-

what should i do to ensure i wont overheat with the ac running in 115 degree outside temps?

as it stands it has a brand new crate motor, with a flex fan and half a fan shroud(body lift).
i have been told to put a good clutch fan on itand dual electric fan setup with a big block radiator?

any inpuit on this would be amazing!

electrical/wiring-
my dash wiring is nuts,i hit a bump and all the lights flicker and then dont work etc,and its a MESS behind the guages.
is there complete like, plug in hanesses for back there?
anyone ever done that stuff behind there before? i need helppp lol tell me anything you know on it

If possible, post pics. I think it is the vacuum canister/reservoir

All those are options to running cooler. Start with a fan clutch or electric fan set up and a...new/modern radiator(no build up internally/better flow/cooling and capactity). I am not familiar with lifts in relation to half a fan shroud but running a complete one would utilize the fan more efficiently...of course run the correct/working thermostat.

Best of Luck!
