im slowly but surely buliding a 1983 chevy stepside c-10 model it was just a bassic work truck a rubber floor mat no carpet, vinyl seat, cheap looking door panels and no headliner, im going to be putting in carpet, a custom made seat cover made with some sort of cloth and swede insert same on doors, im wondering tho is it possible to put a headliner in a truck like mine that never ever had one and how hard is it to, thanks for any info

Yes, it is possible... if you look at the vendors, (lmc, classic, etc...) most have headliners made for trucks that DIDNT come with them...
I havent done one, but I have heard is is not hard but does involve drilling a couple of holes.

I put an LMC highliner in my plow truck. Id didn't have factory headliner. The plastic pillar trim, etc came from a donor truck.

baby jay i thought of one of those high liners, but im afraid of it taking up to much head room, im 6,1, also the sound qulity even if i did change the speakers, are they able to be covered in fabric, or only paintable?

I'm 6' even and I can tell ya that if you go offroad and your head bounces side to side much you will bump the speaker. The sound quality of the included speakers is OK for my stock FM radio. I Would imagine you could use spray adhesive and coax some fabric to make all the curves happen but not sure.

All you need to do us get headliner board from a junk square. Have it convered and u good, that from and some light hold it in.

It can be done two ways. You can get the headliner for trucks that weren't equipped with one. Or you can buy the all support/cover pieces and use the one for truck that were originally equipped with the headliner. You have to paint the covers to match your interior. It is more work and expense to get all of the extra pieces, but it gives you a more finished look.
