Sweet, care to elaborate on the swap any pics of when you were doin it Measurements what did you do for a crossmember any pan modifications needed?, I got a spare 12v and NV4500 sittin here and after there ready I plan on putting that mess in my 67 when I realize the 292 ain't enough.

Re: big 6 cyl

no mods needed to the crossmember or the pan just had to cut to make room for the a/c of corse had to make a trans x-member from scratch never though to take pics before last night when i found this forum. the swap was very easy just put the motor where i wanted it and made motor mounts to fit

Re: big 6 cyl

I won't be running any power accesories so I don't have to worry about A/C or anything like that.

Are you going to do any performance mods? I am pretty well versed in performance stuff for these VE fueled 12v's so if you need anythin just holler

Heres a few Diesel boards I'm also on and they are extremley helpful. You'd be suprised how much fuel you can get out of the little VE.

Re: big 6 cyl

With some minor tuning a governor spring and a good converter your truck will be a rocket for as light as it is.

man thats what i thought its almost too easy and wondered why more arnt doing it i checked out your build its looking sweet. i found on mine all i needed to cut was the pinch weld on the cab floor. what did you use for a driveshaft im not sure about a one peice or to stay with the two piece. one other thing is im not sure how to get around the whole tps sensor thing for the 2-3 upshift any ideas as i dont want to use the computers

Re: big 6 cyl

I used a stock Chevy 1/2ton ds. I just measure how long and got 1410 to 1350 u joints. And I'm running a full manual valve body. So manual shift every gear and electric 4th and overdrive on a switch in cab.

nice build i love it when people come up with new ways to build these trucks. if we built all our trucks the same this site would be boring.

You can use a potentiometer to replace the TPS, I'll get on cumminsforum and see if I can come up with the thread for you.
