Fender flare options
Just looking for some cheaper alternatives to a set of 400 bushwhackers any suggestions ?

I can say this, I had trouble finding any brand other than Bushwacker for my burb. I bought and installed a set of their cut-out flares, and they fit great. I could only assume that their other models would fit just as good. The price was a bit tough, but I don't regret it.
BTW, 4wheelonline.com had the bushwackers cheaper than anyone else I found, and let me will call them at their local distribution center. |

I have WARN’s on my truck but if I were to do it over again I would have gotten Xenon flares, as the WARN’s are hard plastic and never fit quite right, whereas the Xenon’s are rubbery and look much higher quality. Regardless, the cost of admission for a set of flares from either company is about $400+

I 2nd the Xenon flares ... there not cheap but are same or better quality than OEM . I just bought a set for my project .

I was pretty happy with the Warn flares with the exception of the way they cover up half of the front fender light. The Xenon flares look like they have a better cut-out around the front fender light but I would like to see one installed. Either way when they are painted to match the body they help to diminish the boxy look of this body style.

I believe both WARN and Xenon look like this around the front market light on ’81-’91. Not sure which flare this but it looks like a Xenon as it does not stick down like a mud flap on the door side of the fender.

I picked up a set of the cutout style bushwackers off craigslist a couple summers ago still new in the box and after I saw how thin and and stiff they were, I decided to resell them. They're only about 2mm thick. Was NOT impressed with them at all. If and when I do get some fender flares it's going to be the XENON brand. I've seen them up close and they are nice & flexible more of the look I'm after in the long run as well.

when i see "small print" it usally means an clause of sorts lol like $429 if your American,and your truck is white,and the markers are sideways but $4029. if your Canadian,your truck is blue,and your markers go up and down it's the same pic up a few posts,any others? |

I'm sure he cares to sell them. I think Xenon only provides the later style in their literature.
To me the question is how are the flexible ones in the cold? Sure,the Bushwackers are rigid and take less impact at any temperature,but how are Xenons in low temps? I install vinyl siding,which is totally flexible. But,in the cold it will crack if you look at it funny. I know there are different formulations and siding is made to have a degree of rigidity. Still,that's something I'd look into. I personally like the looks of the Bushwacker extend-a-fender over all the others,especially on a square fender. After running a set for 18 years I can report they are more forgiving than some seem to think (my wife drove this thing). My Blazer wasn't a trail rig,though,and I always try to avoid contact with objects in my vehicles whether it be bumpers,sheetmetal,trim,plastic grilles,or fender flares.
