97 2 door tahoe shave plus paint..
 

Hi,

This is a 97 from Mexico,its called Silverado and its a 2wd,Leather and all accesories available from that year.I did not had my camera with me earlier to show how the paint was before starting.It was sunburned and scratched by haters...
I bought it about 2 years agon in good condition,I kind of abuse it and want to bring it back to life,I will need to redo the two fron seats,the rear is in good shape,AC needs to be fixed,Valve seals r needed and some other small things..I will be adding pics of the proccess in this thread.
engine is still tbi till 98 and only 99 came with a vortech...I will be adding engine mods aswell..

Even though it is just Mexico, it's always cool to see these trucks in other countries and see what the owners do with them.

what does just mexico have to do with anything???? when i went to visit down there years ago, i saw my first one down there lowered with wheels and nice air brush on it. since then it took me 3 years to find a decent one in a fair price range. mine has went through alot of make overs and now finally its getting bagged. keep up the good work and update it once in a while.

Exactly. It wasn't that vague of a statement.

I love seeing stories of these trucks from other countries. Especially from overseas areas like Europe, Asia and Australia...countries where these trucks aren't exactly common.

I don't really view Canada the same way. Canadian car culture and style is so similar to the US that you often wouldn't notice a custom/modified vehicle from Canada unless you looked at the license plate.

Mexico on the other hand, although it is just across the river from our great state of Texas and can be reached in a matter of hours, even for me, has a car culture that can be vastly different than that of ours. Even though these trucks were sold there and so are still common, it's still cool to see where the tastes and styles of the Mexican culture can take them.


Does that make more sense now, salrod00? My comment was by no means a dig or an insult to Mexico, which is how you seemed to take it from the implied tone of your question.

"Just another truck" doesn't apply to any of these trucks to me. Even the ones that have been worked hard and run into the ground are worth taking note of.

Cant wait to see the build up. I lovehow its 2wd but it has 6 lug z71 wheels and flares. Also that its still TBI. Any interior pics? Its like a combination of all the different years and models. Its a left over parts bin truck. Kinda like my 99 lol.

Wheels are five lug,flares will come off,it had running boards from factory.
I dont have interior pics right now,i will take some two front seats need to be redone..
I was going to shave the rear bumper and the chassi is longer than the truck,is it the same with all truck,would i have to cut the chassi where the bumper is attached?
I will leave it with the bumper on for now.I was going to sell it and start with a base model wich dont come with flares,running boards,Also leather qont last to long where i live.there is dust,humidity or water.the good thing is there is no rust at all...

I was looking at them and thinking they looked like 15" wheels. Am I correct? If so, they're really cool because that design of wheel was only available here in the states in 16" 6-lug flavors for the 4wd trucks.
