700r4

I am changing the transmission in my '85 C10 from a TH350 to a 700R4, what is the difference in length? If I measured correctly, my driveshaft will need to be 1 7/8 shorter? Also, this 700R4 came out of an 89' Z28, are the tailshafts for F-body cars the same length as all others?

Thanks for the help....

I've always been told a long tail shaft T350 (used in truck's) and 700R4 are the same length and all 700R4 are the same .

That would be nice, I guess I'll find out for sure in the next couple of weeks when I do the heart transplant.... Swapping out a ZZ4 350/TH350, for a 383 (486 hp, 533 ft. lbs torque) and 700R4... I told my wife that the O/D would make it more driveable...LOL

Hope the 700 hold up to that power level. They aren't the stoutest of transmissions. but with that said- I have a fully built 700 in my 92 silvy- and I am thinking bout swapping the 700 into my 89 daully, and put the 400 in the 92(future race truck).
