How to install torque convertor?
Okay well.. I have my transmission all bolted up' and my torque convertor doesn't quite make it close enough to my flywheel?
And was I supposed to fill up the torque convertor with fluid before install onto transmission? Because I didn't! Note: this is a th 350 trans with shift kit! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: How to install torque convertor?
I always fill up the converter with fluid, I have heaard it is bad for the pump not to. I dont know if that is true or not but it does save time checking and filling the fluid when you start it back up! the converter holds quite a bit of fluid. when I put converters in I spin them and push on them at the same time. you should feel it "click" a couple times. then when you bolt the engine back in you can slide it forward a lil bit to bolt up the converter.

Re: How to install torque convertor?
You are supposed to measure the torque convertor to bellhousing clearance and TC to flexplate clearance too I believe. The instructions that came with my TC for the S-10 had measurements. If it doesn't mate using the measurement, then you are supposed to use spacers I think. Not too sure though. Just give a trans shop a call and ask, but I would not just slide the TC forward without making sure the measurements are right.
