replaced rear brakes, some advise needed
 

hi guys,

last night I replaced the rear brake pads and cilinders on my K20.

The brake drums looked fine, so no worries there.

Everytyhing went pretty smooth, but two things:
- the selfadjuster arm doenst seem to push against the wheel on the right rear side
- and the brakepedal seems to have a longer path then before

We have bleeded the brake system and completely replaced the brake fluid.
I stopped on the way home to adjust the adjusters by hand. I noticed that the left side did make the clicking sound when adjusting and the right side didnt.

Also the left side I was able to open up the adjuster less then half an inch and the right side needed about an inch or inch and a half.

1. Is that normal that the sides are different in amount of adjusting?

2. is it OK if the adjuster doesnt click on the right side when adjusting the brake?

3. is it OK for the brake pedal to have a longer brake path now?

The car seems to brake OK, although I am a little scared to really brake very hard at this time...

some advise would be nice!

if the ajusters are loose and set up right
a quick back up and hard brake will ajust the rears
fwd and back a couple of times should help bring the pedal up

The height of the pedal relates to the rear shoes, not fluid or front pads

Did you back off the park brake adjustment before adjusting the shoes and then readjust the park brake afterwards?
