Squarebody Van Control Arms?
I had this question asked to me last night from a buddy lookin to narrow his track width on his bagged 78 which is a budget build.
"Will Van C-arms work on one of our trucks with out too much modification? I know they are shorter than the truck arms" After an "I dunno but I'll ask some people" I told him to save up for a Porterbuilt or Scot's front cross, but he's already into chopping a stock crossmember and was hoping the van arms would work. Any thoughts? |

You could do the same by checking Autozone or any part store’s website to compare part numbers. That is what I always do when playing swapperoo. |
Re: Squarebody Van Control Arms?
Hmm... I've always heard that they were shorter, but wrong happens frequently. I may take a tape measure and go to the junkyard tomorrow and see what I can see.
Thanks for the heads up. |
Re: Squarebody Van Control Arms?
The difference is in the X-member. Im thinking the A-arms are the same, except a 2500 van has rubber bushings like a 1500 pick up. I am not sure whether the balljoints are the same

Re: Squarebody Van Control Arms?
Well it rained from 1 am till prolly 8:30 this morning, and its still windy and coldish. I'm not in the mood to get all muddy today for this guy, so I'll hit the yard another day.
If it is the X member, that might be the swap to look at before he gets too much deeper into chopping the stocker. Thanks guys |
