1986 GMC sierra classic

hey, im new on here and new to the world of actually fixing vehicles by myself. im making some money but its going to be a slow project. i love my truck but it needs things soon before i can do to it what i want to. my question to anyone and everyone is, the brakes are crap and need to be fixed soon. problem is, i have no idea what to do on them. i would like to replace evry part of the whole set up, but idk what that even includes. any help would be awesome and ill upload pictures when i figure this site out.

also if i by bigger rims and tires will i need to buy bigger brakes? because in that case ill wat to replace evrything at once
