I got my new '68 home!
It was more of a hassle than it should have been, but nothing is ever simple!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...methe68001.jpg The driver's side rear wheel is locked up tight. Good thing my friend has a winch on his trailer. Because of this, we couldn't get it unloaded back down by my shop, so we unloaded it out front. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...methe68003.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...methe68005.jpg At least out there, my Wife will nag on me without end to get it moved. What a gal, helping me out by keeping me motivated like that!:lol::lol: |

Solid indeed. What is bolted to the bed floor on the driver side? I cant tell what it is in that pic. Also, I've never seen tie downs bolted to the exterior of the bed. Maybe the PO didnt realize what he could use the stake pockets for. Nice truck though, looks like she'll clean up real nice.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...methe68004.jpg I've never seen one work, but apparently there are rails on the bottom of the camper that mesh with the sprockets on that device, and by turning it, it slides the camper into the bed. As far as plans go-first is to get it back on it's feet. I have a power brake set-up and 2 new brake drums. I hope there are at least 2 on the truck that can be turned. I'll have to rebuild the master cylinder and rebuild or replace the wheel cylinders. It starts right up if I dump a little gas in the carb, but I need a battery, and either the fuel pump is bad or it is right out of gas. A good and thorough cleaning of the interior is in order. It has a wore-out saddle-blanket seat cover on the seat, but under it the seat don't look toooo bad, but I have a set of buckets that I may stick in. I want to be driving it soon! |
