Vent window question

I'm replacing my pass. side vent window glass with a piece of glass from a junkyard...both the rubber moldings on the glass and on the truck are shot. Anyone know where to get a replacement set? The part I'm looking for is diagrammed by LMC - its between the glass and the channel - but it doesnt have a part number listed. Anyone know where I can find one?

Is this what you're looking for?

I've never used these guys, so I can't speak to their quality or relibility, but it might help if you can't find it anywhere else or at least give you a starting point for a price range.

No, those look like the seals between the assembly and the door. I'll have to replace those eventually too, but I'm looking for the seal between the glass itself and the channel frame it slides into

I don't think they use a "seal" for replacement glass, I'm pretty sure they used an adhesive/sealer when the glass company replaced mine. Might check with a local glass company.

Hi C15_Sierra,

I believe what you're looking for is called "glass setting tape". It's basically just a thin strip of rubber that you lay over the open side of the channel and it wraps itself around the edge of the glass as the glass is pushed into the channel. Then you just trim off the excess that's sticking out. Note that the glass setting tape comes in different thicknesses for various channel widths and glass thicknesses.

If you can't find glass setting tape, the black urethane adhesive that's commonly used to install windshields in newer vehicles should do the trick too.
