I know it is a 1941 thru 1947 but not sure how to tell which year. I have a 1 1/2 ton 1947 that looks like that one but most of the 1947 look like the 1948 and up body style. I know the parking lights are different on a 41 than the other years but not sure what is different. Hope this helps some.

With the medium duty trucks its hard to tell what they drug over into the later body style years. We get a double wammy with this one because it is absolutley a 41/46 style. Being a medium duty it could have been produced for war time military use and been a 42, 43, 44, or a 45.

If its not a military vehicle...41 or 46 is my guess.
If its got a military history....41 through 46.

Whatever year it is....it has the potential to be RACY!

Pictured below is a 41 1 1/2 ton

Yep, it's a WAR TRUCK. Chevy 41-46
I had a 46 that I unloaded last year. Car makers were too busy tooling for planes and tanks to change the model design till after the war.

How on Earth is that thing still in such good shape, grille looks perfect! Most farm trucks were beat like rented mules, then pushed out in a pasture to return to Terra Firma. That looks like a nice start to a project!

It was used as a water truck, very light use.. Parked 15 years ago and hasn't moved since..... Still working on the farmer who owns it.. He's having trouble parting with it(can we blame him). He said he though it was a 1943.

1941 to 1947 1st series... there were a few of them still being put together and sold while the new 1947 AD styles were coming out and onto market.

I think 1946 was the only year for the 2 ton option.

the other factoid I recall is the 1.5 / 2 ton fender opening is bigger than the 1 ton and smaller trucks and makes it look different in person.

Re: What year is this dually

41,42 trucks used a rubber seal around the gas tank filler neck the later trucks 43-46 used a leather seal to save the rubber for the war effert, im pretty sure that a 41 has a trunsignal lite thats different from a 42-46 truck. the best way to deturmnin is getting the vin off the engine if its original. i rember reading somewher that if the vin is missing on the cab the only other place it was located was the engine block
thaks tim
