How many have t-56 and LS motor?

I already have a 4l80e for my 6.0 swap, but was tossing around the idea of running a manual for the fun factor since it will be a toy, and found a couple t-56s for about 900 bucks. http://worcester.craigslist.org/pts/2292012302.html .....is it worth the effort, or even do-able? any extra costs/headaches associated with this? i dont know much about them, thanks guys.

You'll want a T56 that DIDN'T come from a vette, and you'll need to:
-either run bucket seats or install a shifter relocation kit that requires tearing the trans completely down to install
-figure out a hyd clutch system to work with the LS slave cylinder
-run pretty steep gears out back to take advantage of the .5:1 sixth gear

Puglia,

I love the T56 in my C10.

Check out this thread with lots of info about the T56 swap.

swb85, why not from a corvette?
is the shifter wayyyy back with buckets? annoying?

tr56-thanks for the links, youve provided so much good info! I'm afraid it might be too much for me though, I have no welding experience or experience with these or any manual transmissions, and mine is in a 1980 so I cant go off everything you've posted :( I really like the idea though, so I'll keep reading! Itd be a fun combo!

If anyone else has anymore links, builds, advice, opinions, anything, send them my way! I am 100% new to this so not sure what it'd entail or if I could even do it, so any help would be great! thanks!

Vette's used a torque tube to connect the engine to trans and the trans connects directly to the rear, look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-C5...item48400aa0b7
