Just wanted to say hey

I just signed up and just bought my very first Chevy. I have always been a mustang guy,but Ive had a love for the old cars and trucks forever.
I just purchased a 68 C10 shortbed stepside. Its not much to look at right now but that will change over time. I gave $750 for the truck and it has all the usual rust for this model.
My plans are to bag it,5 lug it and maybe go with a flat paint, but not black. Im sure as time goes on more ideas will come to mind. Motor wise its wide open b/c there isnt one. I am thinking 350 maybe a 400 backed up by an auto, but thats not 100%. Kind of depends on what sort of deals I find.
This is a porject for me and my son to work,he's 6. Hes really excited about it but what can I say,I am too. Anyways Im sure my questions will come very frequently b/c,as I said, this is my first chevy. Thanks

Thanks I will put a build thread up shortly. I got it today and went right to work stripping it down. Found a little more rust that I didnt see though, kind of scares me. I found some up under the dash, looks a little difficult to get to.Also found one side of the radiator support was ate up at the bottom right under the battery box,no surprise I guess. I did find body filler on the top of the truck as well. Not alot so I am thinking it can be worked out with a stud gun.

The only real spot of corrosion on my 68 is on the bottom right of the rad support too. Do you weld?

I went and bought patch panels yesterday. No I do not weld, but I guess I am going to start. I have a brand new weelder that has been in the garage for a while just never used it,now is a good time to break it out and start though I guess. I am still waiting on another floor pan and a couple of extensions near rear of the cab floor pan though,he said monday or tuesday they should be here.
