Sweet blazer. I can see the engine rebuild and power upgrades but a truck that nice deserves a NOS grille rather than that repro thing.

an alarm bell just rings in my head when i see repro grill on a truck that this guy says are all OEM, if the grill was busted another one could be found on ebay and this guy dont seem like a person who dont uses ebay offen, but knows it very very well

also an engine dont need a rebuild after only 139000 miles i can see if he upgraded it but not by wear.

amazing yes, but I think shes been fixed up. New motor on a 139k mile truck, paint that shines that good, I call fishes. But a beautiful k5 none the less. And that repro grill kills it, but those steelies sure try to save it!

I don't think it's all original either, way too many red flags. But it is impressively original and well maintained. It does have some replacement stuff and I seriously doubt that glossy black paint is original, the dog-dishes are 80's fodder, etc. But its so close and the non-OEM stuff so minor, it is fair to call it an original survivor. I love it, but I'd drive it.;)

77 is the first year for those hubcaps, that or it was a midyear thing i believe. I know they were using them by the 80s, but i swore some late 70s got them as well.

And i just noticed the non original radio and speakers, that will hurt the "original" value of it.

Not bad, its almost as cool as the 1-owner 77' 2wd GMC Jimmy w/ 22k org. miles on it my Dad picked up in Dec.

First pic is the Freemont Bridge headed west, and the other pics are taken just north of the Portland Zoo up on the hill at the Portland Reservoirs (aka Rose Gardens). I know exactly where he is at, and I've never seen it before, been to a lot of local shows too.

Too bad he cut the dash up, and put those speakers in there.

What year did GM start using the "coned" front hubcaps on 4wds. Except for the 4wd fronts, that style cap has been used since '76. But,at some point the front 4wd caps went from flat with a hole, ridges and accent painted ring to that "coned" style.
I don't really know, but I didn't realize those mirrors came out as early as '78. But,I didn't know the sport mirrors were still available in '85 either. What year did those mirrors come out? I was thinking '80 maybe '79.

special-k, i have a 75 k5 with those mirrors on it, but in all reality someone could have put them on there. I thought it was 79-80ish, but i am not 100% sure on that.

I was thinking early 80's on this style mirror. I can remember my '78 Blazer having the stainless camper style mirror on it back when my brother bought it in '83. There was also the sport style.

Looks like 1980 was the first year for the newer, more popular style mirror.

139k for a 70's truck engine sounds about right to me. I know some people have way more and I assume they more or less babied them.
But I now people that used their trucks as trucks and did all the proper maintenace and got less than 100k?
When I bought my '85 K5 that had a manual tranny, it had a new(er) crate engine with 40k on it and only had 160k on the odometer. The guy I bought it from worked at a GMC dealer but had only owned it for about 7-8 years (this was in '98 or '99).

The alarm bell for me, and I am note sure I would call it an alarm, is that the reat seat doesn't match the front buckets?
The vinyl doesn't seem to wear as well as the cloth so I assume the vinyls were wore out and/or cracking and he found some cloth seats used in nice shape and put them in?
This one locally is a '78 and it has matching seats.

Sweet K5! It'd make someone a great parts truck to restore an old rust bucket :)
