power steering for 57 truck

I'm thinking of doing a PS conversion. Info/advice on which kits?

Anything I need to consider with regards to motor mounts, lowering? Specifically, a 57 3100 with the original V8 (283) conversion front motor mounts. I plan to upgrade to a 350 (zz4) so should I look at the side motor mounts? If so, which ones? Future plans are to go with a 3" dropped axle. Any known issues there? I appreciate all the info/help. Ran a thread search but came up empty.

Many thanks!

I would change to side mounts if I were you. Getting rid of the original front mounts gives you more options for p/s pump and accessory mounting. Also, I used the Chevy truck style p/s kit from CPP that mounts the box outside the frame. Again, I'd re-think that if I were starting over. It's an easy upgrade but will limit what wheels and tires you can run. I'm using Corvette wheels and 235/75/15 tires with no clearance problems but wider tires would rub. I plan to stay with this size tire so it's not a problem for me. There's a kit that uses a Toyota box but I'd try to find a rack and pinion kit if I were you and want to keep the straight axle.
When I got my truck I just wanted something quick and easy so I went with the kits, but now I think if I were starting over I'd junk the entire front frame and go to something more modern like most of the guys here are doing.
