700R4 swap into a 73 K5 advice comments
5 Attachment(s)
i have read most ofthe posts on here in regards to the swap I have all the wiring out of an 86 K5 for the TCC and cruise (all kinda inner related) I have devised what i feel should be a fairly easy straightforward wiring harness to make the converter lock and unlock as it would in a factory set up..i prefer NOT to have an on off toggle switch just a simple operation that works off manifold vacuum and the brake petal switch to unlock the converter on its own
anyone having done this please advise yes i have the TV cable for a cabureted V8 the trans transfer case and frame are from an 82 K5 Please look over my "sketch" I dont see why one would have to open up the tranny and change solenoids if it is wired correctly |

looks like you have the electrics worked out BUT have you given any thought to the mechanical? Im not sure but I think you will have to get a adapter to mate the trans to the transfer case what transfer case do you have

the Transmission and T case are already coupled. and they in turn are mated to a 305. I have not touched the driveline that came with the 82 K5 rot box... look at the pics.... but thanks for the feed back
I feel it should work too... Just want advice from some of you who have made this swap with good results |
