Lost Ignition Keys
Lost my ignition keys. I searched and found the passenger side door lock contains a code for the 67-72 trucks. Would an 1986 C20 have the same code?

Re: Lost Ignition Keys
Any real locksmith can cut a key for the truck in about 20 minutes, without a code. Sure you have to pay for a house call, but when you need a key to start it and all.....

Re: Lost Ignition Keys
FYI you can still by ignition cylinders from GM and they come with 2 new GM keys...Have to pull the steering wheel tho and replace it but after 20 years they are worn anyway. Would be the cheapest too

Re: Lost Ignition Keys
also most autop parts stores still stock the aftermarkets for aroubnd $20 or so and the swap can be done in a matter of an hour with the right tools so it would be alot cheaper to do it that way

Re: Lost Ignition Keys
If you call LMC you can get the ignition and door locks pretty cheap. If I remember right when I bought mine it was under $50.00 for the whole kit. Buy the one that is all keyed alike. One less key on your keyring.

Re: Lost Ignition Keys
Get a blank key and a candle. get the black soot onto the key stick in the ignition and turn pull it out and it should leave the impression to cut out. then use a file to form a key.
