Later Chasis?
 

Are many of you guys using the later chasis's to get the updated disc and rear axle with 5 lugs. We have a 67 but I have come into a very nice short bed complete roller with power steering. Would it take much to mount the earlier cab on it?

I am sure experts will chime in, but I believe the frame isn't shaped the same, so cab/box wouldn't line up. Anything can be done with enough work, but is it worth it is the question for most.

Many people do pull the front crossmember from a 73-87 and bolt them in (very close to a direct bolt in I believe). You will also need the MC from the truck it came from if you are going from drums to discs. If swapping the rear, you will need to cut off the spring perches from the donor and mount the appropriate trailing arm and shock brackets. Also, make sure the drive shaft yokes are compatible (or have a custom one made).

Dmack where can I get the shock brackets I recently installed front and rear axles from an 84 into my 68 for the disc and power steering but I need new shock brackets any help would be great

Kolo there is a friend of mine in CT that has his 70 on a 78 frame he is a whole lot more talented than me but he said it wasn't bad at all for what he gained
