Sound Insulation....
 

Ok... I'm Looking at a Rubberized Floor for my Rodeo Rig 1 Project, and I was Just wondering If there was anyway of Sound Deadening, an rattling, I am Planning on putting a Nice Sound/Entertainment System in it as I am Planning on using it as A Travel vehicle for my Rodeo business, and I am planning on Traveling as much as I can with my 7yr old son... Anything Would be helpful! Thanks Guys... Ya'll have Been SO much help already, providing me with Ideas and Tips!

i guess the dyno mat would work under the rubber
consider a spray/rubber under coating too i noticed a difference after doing (under)my car

I was Thinking of A Rhino Lined Undercarriage.... U was just going to Spray in the Floor, thats why I was asking can I just spray over Dyno Mat??

yeah I understood the Outside... but I'm wanting Rubber Floors for easy Clean-up.... I'm looking for idears on sound insulation as well as that... I was Gonna Dyno Mat the interior... just curious on what I can do as well

I've seen a few projects on TV that got sprayed with a product called Lizardskin for sound deadening purposes. There's quite a few guys that have used bedliner products on the inside of their square-body military pickups and Blazers hoping to get some sound deadening with the increased utility but the general consensus seems to be that the bedliner products do not help with sound control. Just stay away from the "rubberized undercoat" rattle can stuff. It attracts dirt and looks like dirt in no time flat. Like Bruiser said, the LizardSkin stuff looks promising from the reviews I've read. I'm going to use it on my project after paint in/out. I don't think spraying the Dynomat would hold up to the abuse of boots/shoes. Too slick and flexible.

I would go with fatmat sound deadner ( comes on a roll like dynamat ) but is a lot cheaper than dynamat and just as good. Then I would just cover that with the rubber floor that lmc truck sells. You can get fat mat off eBay 100 sq ft. For 125.00, I would buy 2 rolls and do the floor roof and doors. This is what I plan on doing with mines but I'm going with carpet instead of rubber. Hope this helps

I agree with the FatMat product referral. I used it in my '71, then put marine grade carpet over it, and it is almost as quiet as a new truck is now. I don't see any reason you couldn't use the rubber floor liner over it. I got mine off Ebay, and it was a good bit cheaper than most other products out there. I'd use it again without reservation.

just thinkin the real stuff must be fire rated?
as opposed to fire feeder tar-ish paper?

I dunno about the fire rating. Not to discount your concerns about such things, but if it got to the point of the insulation either stopping or feeding a fire in the cab of my truck, I'd say I have much larger problems at that point. It's stuck to steel on one side, and has foam padding w/carpet stuck to the other side. So there's lot's more to consider, I'd say.

The Fatmat looks good i was wondering if somebody used the tar paper over an area where a Cat runs, might be ok with out,but the Cat temps can even go up higher as it plugs up that might be a thought...
