changing 2 piece to a 1 piece driveshaft?
I am half way finished with my LS swap :metal:
I dropped my 6.0 with a 4L80E tranny into my 72 cheyenne. It came with a two piece driveshaft, but now I want to go with a one piece. I called Denny's Driveshaft and told him about my project, he told me he has made driveshafts for people in the past with my setup, and they had issues with the driveshaft rubbing against the crossmember. :waah: Has anyone had issues like that?? Any opinions will be appreaciated. Thanks |

Re: changing 2 piece to a 1 piece driveshaft?
I think this would depend largely on the position of the motor and trans combination (how far back or forward it sits) and the angle the motor was installed at.
If you did have a small interference problem, you could easily notch the crossmember to clear it. |

Sorry, ment to respond to this a couple days ago. Rear and 4l80e are centered and mine is a short bed. The passenger side only has about 1/2" clearance.
