Why is this light staying on?

Ok, i had to remove my AC control to install my new radio. While putting the control back in, the right side light bulb came on when it touched the housing (ground) i checked & everything was off, key, lights..., Any ideas wht this would all of a sudden happen? I did clean both bulbs and contracts, only the right side stays on. Left goes on/off with dash lights. Wiring is original, but never has been hacked on. Any ideas??

When I was installing a cig lighter, I accidentally plug the light into the wrong fuse and it always ran hot which made it always be on, make sure you've got it in the right spot.

that should wrap into the main dash harness.
I suspect (assuming no hacking has been done in there) the wire is shorted to a constant hot wire. Shouldn't be too hard to trace it down considering that wire isn't very long.

This is my guess also, the right light is in the A/C harness, and it's a gray wire that plugs into the fuse box, Make sure it's in the "cluster feed" slot.

Thanks, I'll check where it plugs into the fuse box tonight and your right the wire goes right into the AC harness. I would think though if it was plugged in the wrong fuse (always hot) that the fan would also turn on, but it doesn't, only the light?? I am just hoping that there isn't a short in the harness somewhere, just got the dash all put back together and not wanting to tear into it again....

It's a small gray wire that runs just the light, so the fan isn't part of it. The fan is run off the big orange or pink wire I can't remember right off hand, but they should not be hooked together.

thanks, i incorrectly assumed they both got power from the same fuse. I hope it just plugged in the wrong place. Does the fuse box actually have a slot marked "cluster feed" if so that an easy check. Also, if it is plugged into a constant hot, then that's probably explain why i couldn't find one for my new radio's orange wire. thanks again!

It's marked 'clstr feed' and has an arrow pointing to the slot it plugs into. It's right below the fuse in the upper right corner.
