Re: Should i prime panels before painting them
I havent gotten to my panels yet, but i painted all my trim plus the dash with (sem gloss black) . Its made for interior plastic, vinyl, and carpet. I just sanded lightly, washed with soap and water and sprayed everything with 3 coats. Seems to be holding up pretty good, everyone things that theyre new pieces. Didnt work well on the carpet though so i had to order a new blk carpet. I wanted to do the door panels but one has a crack and im not sure if its worth trying to fix or just buy new ones.

YES! If you don't prime them, the paint won't adhere properly and will scratch off very easily. I've gone down this road. I used SEM interior vinyl/plastic paints. Good stuff. You can find them pretty much anywhere.

The prepwork is far more important than the finish if you Want it to last. Yes, prime them.

Interior panels? Plastic primer. Vinyl paint.
