air conditioning question in panels and burbs

i have a 1950 suburban.can anyone tell me what air conditioning set up they are running in the 48 to 53 suburbans and panels, maybe even up to 59? i know vintage air ,hot rod air, classic auto air and old air products make set ups for the cab of the 48 to 53 trucks. i have called all of these companies and non of them are really sure there truck systems will cool a panel or burb enough.some say i should run there $1500 air box and others say i need to run a second rear air unit. has anyone used the truck system in there panels or burbs. or is there a system of of another vehicle i can use without a ton modifications. i am planning on running front and rear seats. information or pictures would be helpful. if anyone has ever ran a/c and heater hoses through the side kick panel to give the firewall a clean look would also be nice to see to?

You will most likely need to run a dash unit and a evap, from a van in the rear,
You have plenty of room to run four hoses to the rear evap, just be aware of the exhaust!
Several layers of insulation will help also !

The in dash unit came from Vintage Air, all of the other components came from the local Air Conditioning store just over the counter parts, the brackets came from Bills Hot rod store or Bills Brackets!

Gresham, Or? Doesn't seem like you'd need F&R air but a couple days a year. 'Course, we were there during the heat spell a couple years ago. Flew from Phx to Portland and it was hotter when we got off the plane than when we got on.

A guy could run a curtain made of that crystal clear vinyl the use on boat canvas setups. Run it across behind the seat, eliminate cooling the part of the truck you're not using.

i going to route my a/c lines the same as the first post.as soon i figure out which one i need.it also gets 80+ for a couple months and without sliding side windows it would be like a oven for my family.it also helps with defrost during the winter because we get alot on condensation on the windows, so a/c is a must. but i dont know about rear a/c.i had an ford expedition that had rear air and i never used it. so are there anymore people using a/c in there suburban and carryall?

All the A/C lines will be the same which ever evaporator you go with.

Lesson #1

The large fitting goes up on the top of the condenser
Everything will only fit one way from there!!
