?? about firewall
My curiousity is starting to get the better of me. I have a '69 chevy and I'm trying to finish up my interior and starting to tackle the inner firewall. There's a big hole next to the gas pedal linkage. What's the hole for? It looks factory and is kind of oval in size. If it is factory, is there a grommet made to seal it?

Are you talking about the clutch linkage hole?

The hole is for a clutch rod. There are two different plugs that will work The 69's originally had a a plastic cap plug that pops in place. In 71-72 they went to a metal cover with two holes for securing with screws. Post a WTB on the parts board and you should be able to get what you need.

I wonder if the rubber plugs tended to fall out. My truck has a powerglide and therefore no clutch. The hole had no plug when i got the truck in 1985 and it has had a piece of tape over the hole ever since. I guess a plate with a couple of screws or poprivets might be a good fix.:bowtie:
