Slick Repair?

Hi, I got a puncture in the tread area of my new drag slicks, what is the best repair method?
Thanks,
Neil.

I would not recommend repairing a slick in any way. You have to think about the forces exerted on a race slick. I wish I could help you in a cheaper way. Paul Baxter

Do you run tubes?

I'd put a tube in it, but would not attempt to repair the tire itself.

Sorry, did not even think about tubes. I don't run them, so it did not even cross my mind. Paul

A tube will also stiffen the side wall and add more rotating weight to your wheel & tire cambo. The Hoosier site says its up to the racer.
I run tubes and bead screws for the fact I like to set my tire pressure and be done with it. I also like the stability down on the big end of the track.

Its probably not recommended by anyone but I have actually run a plug in a slick.

Plug it and forget it. I bet 50% of all cars running slicks have a plug in them. We have plugged them in the lanes.
Best to derim it and put a patch on the inside...but don't sweat a plug.
