I know why no electrics work in my truck
I was trying to find something to tap into 12V for my tach, and realized that the fuse block under the dash has absolutely no power. It also looks so corroded that I wouldn't dare energize the sucker!
That would explain why my wipers don't work, the blower, the dash lights, everything electric in the dash... don't work. Looks like it's time for at least a new fuse block, or maybe an entire harness. What do y'all usually use for replacing the 40+ year old wiring in these trucks? I figure I might as well do a good job now while I'm trying to get the truck into shape. |
Re: I know why no electrics work in my truck
I used the Painless harness and it solved all of my electrical issues.

if you want it factory or custom, I use American Auto Wire.

Re: I know why no electrics work in my truck
The main harness that classic parts of america sells is made by american auto wire. They have it the cheapest I have found ($199 with factory glass fuse block). Some of the other harnesses they sell (headlight, starter, etc..) they have made by a place local to them and they are very good quality and very good price ($40 a piece). I just replaced my main harness, starter harness, and voltage regulator/horn relay/alt. harness. All for $280 and all great quality. Rockauto also sells american auto wire products for a pretty good price.
