Wa Wa sound?
 

My truck has had a problem for quite a while and I occasionally think about it but have not done anything much about it to date. At slow speeds there is a wa wa sound. I think it comes from the front wheels and it sounds like increases with the speed of the wheels. I suspect that it is probably still there at higher speeds but no longer discernable because the truck is noisy. The truck is bone stock in the sense of wheels, brakes etc so still drums.
I know I haven't given you much to go on but I wondered if anyone else has encountered a similar sound and tracked down the source of the noise. :bowtie:

Have your tires checked at a tire shop. Might be the beginning of a seperated tire, bad shocks causing funny wear on tires, or front end is out of alignment.

sounds like the tires to me. my best guess without actually hearing the sound

The drums are supposed to have a spring around them whose purpose I was told was to disapate vibration noise? I could be wrong on that, but do your drums still have those springs?

I would say that the springs on the drums would only come into play while braking (or turning the drum:).

You could always swap the front/rear tires to see if the noise changes.

uh, you didn't leave a baby under the hood did you? I've heard of cats being stuck under the hood, but they sound more like meow, meow........

The springs are on the drums as far as I recall. About time for tires anyway so maybe I won't worry about it until I change them.:bowtie:

You might want to check your wheel bearings whilst you have it up on the jack, just to make sure thats not the culprit. Hows the truck handling? Just a thought, later Doug
