79 chevy4x4 th350 5.3l swap VSS?
 

I have a 1979 chevy 4x4 with a Th350, im currently swapping in a 5.3l mated to a th350.

I have seen some they put vss on theres and some say they dont need one..
Is there a requirment? Can i get away with it or will the motor stall at a stop? Thats what i have heard but some have no problems.

Any input would be great, thanks in advance

I believe that if you don't run a vss it will take away some of that smooth operation you want from doing the swap. Look on JTR.com they sell vss converter things that sit inline with the speeding cable.
