Shock Absorber Suggestions
 

I've decided to leave my truck at its stock height but are going to redo the suspension. I getting the Hellwig Rear Sway Bar for the truck and want to redo all the bushing with the polyurethane ones. I've poked around on Energy Suspensions site and can't find a complete bushing kit for our trucks, does anyone know of anyone that sells a compltete bushing kit for our trucks. Also I found someone on Ebay selling a front pair of Bilstein shocks for our trucks so I emailed and asked if they had the rears as well and they said that Bilstein doesn't make shocks for the back of our trucks. So I'm looking for shock absobers recommendations from you guys and gals.

kyb shocks is what im using on the front ,coil overs on the back vari shock

I have KYB Gas-A-Justs on my K20. Contrary to their name, they are not adjustable.... what they are is a better-than-OEM replacement high-pressure nitrogen shock, and reasonably priced. They're a bit firm at first but soften up as they break in, and then they stay good for a long time.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer -- I have put them on three vehicles so far.

try LMC Truck for some of the bushings. also, Classic Performance Products carries poly bushings for our trucks.

that sucks about Bilstein....i wanted to get a complete set for my 72 Burb C20 :(

wonder what the lenth difference of a 70 shock and a 99 rear is..
bet there is a blisten that will work..
I'll poke around the paper catologs at work..

KYB gas adjust that's all I use and don't use lmc all they sale is junk

that would be awesome. as long as the shocks are approx the same length. figure the mounting tabs/bolts should be the same on many chevy trucks.

i'm wanting the best shock money can buy for a TRUCK. kyb's are ok, but more something i'd use on my old turbo dodge since koni stopped making shocks for that application. plus, the yellow w/ light blue boots match my hawain blue truck and are a classic chevy color combo (they make bowtie tool boxes and soft bags in those colors).

That would be awesome. Maybe the Factory Bilsteins from my 99 Cop Tahoe would work on our trucks.

fronts should be easy since the front chassis from our 67-72 2wd trucks pretty much continued unchanged until 1987 (1991 for blazer and burb).

the trailing arm/coil spring rear is a somewhat rare bird when most GM trucks had leaf springs. but you would think chevy would have been smart and used as few part numbers as possible.
