whhaaaatt.......... how could you :dohh:
short steps are better and not as many around from what i have seen, and the only way i would own a shortbed is if it was a 67 step side, small window preferrably ;)
just sayin haha, it is still a nice ride though either way :)

Re: Contributing to the delinquency of a step side.

^^that reminds me... when i was in high school, on my route i used to walk or ride a bike on on the way home, their was a 67 small window stepside that i always wanted to buy that was parked behind a chain link fence for years. never could find out anything about it or whos it was. heck i wouldn't be supprised if it may still even be their :)
but.... no money, a place to put it, the funds to work on it, or finding out who it belongs to

Back in the '70s the west coast was busting at the seams with "California Stepsides". They were the rage. Today the trend favors Fleetsides. I like them both, always have.

First it was the California Condor heading for extinction. What next? The California Stepside????? :sexy:

One small step for C/10 King but one large step for the "Fleet Side" world. :metal:

I could see it if it was a project and not to the stage that red truck is. I love the dull satin look to that paint. If you have the bed, which is the hard part, find another truck and make it a short wide.

So, does he want to give me his stepside bed now that he has no need for it ?

Re: Contributing to the delinquency of a step side.

Hey thats my truck!! I got to see Rene's fleet (he said fleet) of pickups. He has an great place and is one hell of a nice guy. I really liked Sancho Plumbing GMC. Yes I am turning my back on the stepper crowd, but know this it was not an easy decision. The step bed on my truck is goregous with a extremely nice wood floor in it, but in these trucks I like the fleetside that much better. I will need to find a home for the bed once I make the change over, I will not let my stepside bed get thrown away.

I got the Fleetside bed blown apart yesterday, more for storing and working on than anything. For the most part it came apart easy, except where someone had welded the rear bed support to the bed sides :censored: I will be working on the dents next.

Rene, we really liked the meat market you suggested.......mmmmmm carnitas burrito.

Again to the stepside fans, it is not a dislike to steps but a bigger love of fleets in this model year. My 1974 C10 will be a stepside as long as it is mine (well in my family...Dad is the current owner). It is still a 67! :exit:

I will say that I like big windows better with fleets. But if it's a 67 small window...I've gotta go with a stepside.

You should see that "satin" red paint up close. It is a really bad Earl Shieb special that has more runs in it than a kindergarden class. It was shiny...once.

The plan is to get the bed into shape and stripped. Paint the whole truck semi-gloss black.

BTW the truck has a 6.0 LQ4/4L80E waiting for it in my garage.
