OK I have a few questions for you:
Are all your lug nuts tight?
Does it do it all the time or only somtimes?
Does it make the sound more at slower speeds?
Does it depend on how tight of a turn you are making?
Where does the clicking sound come from (or sound like its coming from?

1. Don't kno, which lugs nuts lol
2. All the time
3. Yeah
4. No not really it will do it reguardless the turn being a sharp turn or a long circle turn.
5. I think it sounds like its right under me, sometimes i think it might be in the engine bay, but usually i think its under me.

Does that help any....GOD i hope it does lol.

Do you feel and shacking or vibration.?

78' Silverado 04-03-2003 06:18 PM

neither, its more of a clicking noise, anyone know wat it might be?

Can you turn your tires while stopped and see if it clicks. This may help us narrow down the culprit. Also what about when you're braking but not turning?

have you checked your U-joints.

Braking is fine, and wats a U-Joint haha!!

Man this sucks!
I have had similar sounds come and go and I do not know what they are. How is your front braking system? Is everything tight and in place? How are your front bearings, are they greased, have you replaced them recently? When you look under your truck does anything look like it may have shifted and rubbed on something? If you jack up the front of your truck and turn the wheel and spin it does it make the sound, does the truck have to be on the ground for the sound to happen?
Like Brandon said can you turns the wheels sitting still and make the sound?
First ? I should have asked, is it 4x4? :)

I had a strange clicking sound once or twice with my truck. One of them I would only notice while the windows were down, and around corners mainly - it was the wheel berings.

The second I noticed with a bit of a shudder while driving - it was the U-joints. ;)
