Wood beds in fleetsides.
 

I have seen some 67-72 trucks with wood bed floors, but most have steel. Is this a modification or was it an option when new?

It was an option when it was new. It states it on the SPID in the glove box.

My 70 C-10 says: E81 PICK-UP BOX FLOOR

oh pickup box floor means wood floor? i thought it ment fleetside

That's funny mine says E81 FLOOR BOARD , I guess it was whatever they felt like typing at the time.

FWIW; The 1969 "Truck Data Book" (Chevrolet) under "options and accessories when installed by chevrolet" says;

Note; 21034 is the "Longhorn" option (8 1//2 foot bed).
