$28,500 for a 72 Cheyenne....Never thunk it

They said it was a frame off restoration..402 big block. Do they normally go for this amount? Do you think this is high or low?

maybe if the all numbers are matching and everything is just restored with all NOS parts then i couuld guess 28,500 for one

You can't touch one of Jerry Brown's SWB BB Cheyennes for $28,500, but we don't know how nice that truck was/is. I've personally seen his trucks, and they are simply stunning!

Sure why not? I mean there have been more than a few pieced together muscle cars go for 100 grand plus! In the picture it looks real nice.

If you have a frame off done with NOS parts or even if some parts are repops and its a numbers matching BB truck. YEP :metal: This I know...at this time in my life I would not sell the Ciruit Rider for less than $25,000. JMHO

I am not into stock vehicles or numbers matching however that is a nice looking truck. I seen some pretty descent ones at barrett jackson in person that were stunning they brought same kind of money.

Unless you have done a true frame off restoration on something, it would be hard to understand what a deal this is.

This may sound crazy but what you have to think about if you go to Barret Jackson and buy something is they have pretty much done the homework for you. One is they do not consign junk and most of the vehicles are built by well known builders. Two you can go to the auction on thursday and buy a nice car or trucks very reasonable because most of the people there are looking for the DZ 302 Camaro's or the Hemi Cuda' and such cars like that. Me a resto rod that is a very nice restoration is just fine. I have seen some good buys on thursday or early friday. With that said I personally would not pay that much for that truck for the simple reason of what Longhorn man said if they missed the steering wheel, the K&N filter and some other little things under the hood it would lead me to think that there were not a ton of NOS parts involved in this build but I would have to see it in person.

Yes,they commonly go for that much and more. It seems $25,000 is about average. I've seen big block swb Cheyenne Supers go for $45,000+. I've seen Jerry Brown's go for that and others. And that's now,in a recession. $250,000 RVs,exotic cars and boats are still being sold,too. It's the backbone of America,the salt of the Earth,who are hurting in this economy. Not everybody.

One thing about the big auctions, the average person sees something sell for $100,000, and since they have never been through the experience of a frame off resto, they simply cannot understand what that means, as far as the amount of work and money involved. Most people think you buy a $5000 project, invest another 15 or 20 grand, and then sell at Barrett-Jackson for a huge profit. The reality of it (especially now) is that any car that fetched $100,000 at auction, probably had closer to $150,000 invested. If you have money to spend, there has never been a better time to buy than right now!

67-C30 I agree with 100% but my comment saying that BJ has done the homework for you meant they consign from alot of high end builders so most of there stuff is quality. Not like some of your mom and pop auctions.
