77' Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew w/ 21,000 miles
5 Attachment(s)
Hello Everyone,
I thought I would post some pics and info on one of the crown jewels that I hadn't shown anyone yet in our collection. It's a 1977 GMC Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew Cab 2wd with 21,000 original miles and is ALL MATCHING NUMBERS to every detail. It's loaded down to the factory A/C and has a 454 Big Block w/turbo 400. The day it was bought new, Seat covers were installed and full length plastic was placed on the floor, hub caps were packed up. I put everything on and removed the seat covers for the pictures, first time in 34 years! It has rarely been outside. I even have the original key chains that it came with new! Believe it or not but the rear bumper that is on it came on the truck when it was bought new. Enjoy... David ( I'll post more pics I took soon ) |

Very nice truck. That sure would look good as a tow rig for my 77 Cheyenne.

Re: 77' Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew w/ 21,000 miles
We had been thinking about selling it, but I would probably wouldn't find someone who would even want to pay enough or who would be serious and could afford it.
Otherwise for me it wouldn't make sense to sell it, there was a very very small hand full of 73-80 1 ton crew cab single axles ever made that are the top of the line, have the 454, A/C, etc. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 77' Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew w/ 21,000 miles
Please, if you keep it don't do anything to it. That is a beautiful truck. I plan to have one restored to original(or very close) when I retire from the service bc you really don't see alot of 73-87 trucks kept stock. i would love to find a factory swb 454 to restore.

Re: 77' Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew w/ 21,000 miles
I am sure everyone want to know, so I will ask you myself.
What stopped you from driving this beautiful truck for that long? As we all know this is not something you can see everyday. I've heard of people buying cars and storing them and each one has there own reason for doing it. So what's your story? Why? What? Who? When? Where? Probably one of the coolest trucks I have seen on this site yet! :metal: Thanks for the time machine! What a blast from the past! |
Re: 77' Sierra Classic 1 ton Crew w/ 21,000 miles
The pics of the bed seem to indicate that the truck spent some time with a slide-in camper on it (some scraping on the wheel wells and a little paint marring on the bed top right below rear window)....
I would also love to hear the story behind this truck... |
