71-72 Suburban in Canada?
I have been searching for a 71-72 Suburban in Canada now for a few months and am getting a little frustrated with the search. I have been cruising this site for a while now and finally got around to registering. Seems like the best place to get somewhere with the search.
For the Canadian owners of these beautiful vehicles, where are they hiding? Were you able to find them locally or is everyone importing? |
Re: 71-72 Suburban in Canada?
I have been looking for a good 72 Burb for a couple of years now. I'm pretty particular in what I want for a Burb and what I want to pay and that is probably why I haven't bought one yet. I don't think there are a lot left up here. You do see the odd one posted on this site but your best bet is to look on USA Ebay or Craigslist.

I bought mine local but have done alot of rust repair on mine. If I was going to buy another I think I would look south of the boarder. Mine is almost ready for paint now and can't wait to get it back on the road. I bought mine 10 years ago and have slowly picked away at it. They are out there but few and far between (just the way I like it!!! lol.). a couple of pics for you.

It looks like south of the border is the best option at this time. I have had the pleasure of importing a couple of medical trailers across the border and was hoping that I would not have to go through that kind of experience again. Plus there is always the unknown on what you see in a picture and how much work actually needs to be done. Be nice to have the budget to fly everywhere to check them out, but that's not happening.

Re: 71-72 Suburban in Canada?
This is not a Bad Burb. The owner first posted it in December. I've talked to him a couple of times and because of the trans problem made him a 2300 offer and would have been willing to send him the money and have it shipped home without actually seeing it till it got here. He said 2800 was his bottom line.
I'm still looking !!! I tried to attach a link but I'm at work and it wont hook up. Go to Albuquerque Craigslist and find the 1972 Orange Burb for 2900. |

I had looked at that one a few times. Very nice shape. I ended up buying one out of Cali. Just waiting for it to be delivered....never fast enough.

Re: 71-72 Suburban in Canada?
I will put some pics up when it arrives. I moved away from what I had originally looked for and ended up with a 1967 C10. The engine and transmission are pretty fresh, though the engine is a non-original 350. Lowered like many of these burbs are and overall a clean burb.
I received the documentation (original owners manuals and all the receipts) today. Looks to have started its life in Alaska. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Stay tuned for some pics. |

Thanks for the update and looking forward to seeing the pics.

Re: 71-72 Suburban in Canada?
It may be a bit high but a solid original rust free suburban should get close to $12,000 with the thrid row. I dont like the limited options. Three on the tree sucks. But the body is my main concern. If it is original paint I even more value to all cars. I would rather have burnt off paint and know there is not any filler.

Re: 71-72 Suburban in Canada?
Mine is for sale if any of you are interested. It's listed on the trucks (subs) for sale column. Pricey? Depends on what your getting. And, I'm open to offers. I'm retired. Moving within a year to a smaller place. Got too many cars. Sub has got to go.
