Ebay find another low mileage square body

This looks amazing, but why is there no bottom moulding down the sides?

Ordered without it?

Also, could have been removed. As long as the paint isn't faded at all, it's fairly easy to remove, and have it NOT leave a stripe.

Its a GMC that is the same trim level as it woul be if it was a Chevy Cheyenne . Cheyennes that came in a single color did not include the lower trim . It had to be ordered as an extra option or else it looks just like the truck pictured .If it came as a two toned truck it would have had the lower trim mandatory.

It is a good looking truck, but is it really worth 16k? No a/c and lower trim level. I don't see it. Not bashing, but is it really worth 16k to anyone other than the one bid?

If it were a SWB it would defiantly be a 16k truck. Being a LWB it surprises me that it went for that. Not bashing them either, just saying.

Some of the old brochures show the two tone as being available with the single trim strip. Looks a little goofy, IMHO.

I have seen the weird single upper trim two tone job on Suburbans but never on a truck personally. It looks OK on a suburban . I was not aware of the weird Cheyenne option that includes the upper trim only unless it was ordered as a two tone paint truck until I researched the Buckskin 78 Cheyenne I had. The missing lower trim didnt agree with me at first but grew on me . That truck is still my favorite of all the trucks I have owned. I guess it was that it was soo different and the most solid truck I have came across. There was not a single rust bubble anywhere on that truck .

It must have been in the Suburban brochures then. I've only seen one and it was indeed a Suburban... I just assumed the paint/trim options would be the same for pickup and Burb.

My 79 GMC only has the upper trim also. It was a customer ordered truck from Janesville. Looking at the broadcast/build sheet it shows "B85 BODY SIDE MLD" and "ZY1 SINGLE COLOR.

Does it also have the smaller tailgate trim panel ? If so it would be the same trim level as a Cheyenne package from Chevrolet and the trim would be correct for a single colored truck. That trim could be ordered on any trim level truck but it seems like 99 percent of the trucks with that trim are Cheyenne or the GMC equivalent.

This truck is a time capsule . I think it would make a great photo sitting next to 80SPORT's 79(or 78?) four wheel drive. When the auction ended he was the first buyer I thought of . I figured it was headed to Red Deer.

I forgot to mention earlier, I think the coolest thing about the truck is the orange interior. I love it!

Actually it does not have any tailgate trim, only the GMC embossed letters which are painted white. It is a Sierra Grande. I dont think mine is a good go by only because it was a customer order so it is kind of a hodge podge of options. example, no carpet, but has the velour seat.

Mandarin interior is rare . I have only seen a couple in person and a couple more in pics .

My dad's '78 was a Silverado trim level and also only included the upper trim. The previous owner ordered it with each option specifically (it had close to every option available including the factory CB). It's all in what the customer ordered.

Re: Ebay find another low mileage square body

1) i think it is worth 16K in a way----because a new equivalent truck will probably cost at least 23-24K. Now you have one that is easy/cheap to fix.

2) Why would someone buy a new truck and only drive it 5000 miles?
