6.5 turbo diesel

Hi guys was wondering if anyone had a pretty decent 6.5 diesel pickup. there is one for sale close to me and i have always wanted a diesel but was wondering is the 6.5 worth getting? can you make it fast at all without dropping huge amounts of money in it. or would a duramax be better to try and get?

I have a 6.5t suburban for 8 mos now, I love it. From what I know they do not like to be hopped up too much, I feel that if you want a smoke breathing, tire smoking beast pass on the 6.5.
