Clinking noise?

My truck makes clinking noise from the rearend when you put it in gear drive or rev.
Its not real loud just enough to make think what the heck is that. Its a 350/350 new trans,u-joints so-on and so-on,Its a 3:07 posi.
Could it be back lash in the gears? Does posi just make this noise. Oh yea 2 wheel drive 71 super cheyenne swb ( short wheel base) I seen the debate on what does swb mean to you.

Check rearend for C clip ... Could be out of place,,,causing axel to move in & out of posi unit...

most likely backlash in the ring and pinion, possibly u-joint, if not too bad, I wouldn't worry about it, all of mine do this, but if planning on racing or something, you might want to look into it a little further.

I had a clicking noise in the differential of a '70 Challenger once. It turned out that one of the bolts holding the gear on had backed out and was hitting the cover.
