Is this common feature ...??

...of was this brake assistance device only used on Diesel powered trucks ?
Master vac installations are in use on diesel powered european cars , but this is new to me !
Is this a Hydro-vac ?
It works well anyway , the first time I pushed the brake pedal , I gave a kiss to the windshield...Smak !

OK , no pic's then...

What I do have as assistance for the brakes is a hydraulic system , powered by the same pump powering the steering assistance .
My question was :
Is this a common feature , as I see on most of the pic's I saw till now , that a lot of Chev's/GMC trucks have the "normal" master-vac installation , working on the intake collector vacuum.

It's called the "Hydryboost" brake system. Using the PS pump instead of a vac. assist system. Only downside is that if the engine dies, so do your brakes.

It came with diesels, and most 454 trucks.

Thanks Jeff

Thought it was such a thing.
Never saw it before , as one of my former diesel cars , a Ford Granada , had the usual vacuum system , a V-belt driven vacuum pump was fitted to the engine...
Thanks for the explanation , Jeff...
