Re: leaf spring help

should be 3 leafs and an overload. total of 4 the shortest being the overload and it apperas to be almost straight. if you could post a picture i could tell you exactly whats going on. also 1/2 ton?

Re: leaf spring help

your first pic looks fishy. that one on the bottom that looks bent. is that a leaf or somthing else. if its not a leaf i would bet those are stock leafsprings. if it is a spring, get rid of it there shouldn't be a longer spring after your overload. there was a 3:1 4:1 (3 leafs one overload and 4 leafs 1 overload respectively) what sparked you interest? rideheight/quality?

If you carry a bunch of weight all the time, the helper works....

I had a helper leaf. ( my truck had a big camper on it before I bought it). I took the helper off to lower it and soften the ride.
my truck has a HD 3/4 ton. ( Camper Package)

That helper was over-kill for my use.

Yea.. remove it. It was a big difference when I took mine off.

It's an add-on.... so nothing will change except for the ride. Still firm as normal - less bouncy.

Re: leaf spring help

actually removing the helper makes a smoother ride. i couldn't get my leafsprings off. i need to chang them because it was dropped with a shackle and by removing some leafs. but it was seized on so i couldn't. threw a 2 inch block under it for now.
