carb injectors
i just had a real quick question does any one in here know how to clean the injectors in a carb the back ones only one of them is pouring gas out not both of them

Re: carb injectors
There are no injectors in a carb. There are accelerator pumps. What kind of carb? Unless it's a holley double pumper you probably will never see a squirt in the back because they have to be at full throttle.

Re: carb injectors
I'm not sure what your situation is but I've been told (I don't know how true it is) that Holley's have a real low tolerance for dirt. If the carb has some dirt in it and the engine is running really rough at idle a trick I've seen is to clamp down the fuel line and let the truck run until it dies. It takes a minute or so to get all the gas out and as it runs leaner the rpm's will pick up a bit. If you're lucky the last little squirts of gas going through can push the dirt out. Then take the clamp off the gas line and hope for the best. This is assuming the fuel line into your carb is rubber I guess.
Like I say I've seen it done before but I'm not sure if it helps in your case... |
