Patch Panels for fenders
Have any of you guys tried to repair your fenders on your 73-80 with the bottom patch panels? I notice most people seem to just replace the fenders but I hear to any stories about aftermarket fenders not being quality. My fenders seem to only have damage right where the patch panels would go. I see I can get the patches from Brothers for both fenders for about $60 shipped but does anyone know the quality of these patches?

Re: Patch Panels for fenders
I wouldn't waste the time /effort to patch a fender. For the cost of buying a patch and the time involved, I wouldn't bother. You can R&R one in less time than it would take to cut out and patch it back in, especially on a vehicle where a replacement is easy to obtain.
It changes somewhat when the body panel is harder to get (or more costly). It can also be a different story if you make the patch yourself. It's not "free" then either though, your time is worth something....;) |
Re: Patch Panels for fenders
ive been both directions with this.. ive patched fenders in the old days and ive found that if you search around you can get a good quality replacement fender.. Key Auto Parts and Goodmark make good quality replacement parts. Im also told the ones from our site vendor CaptKaos are real good although ive not used his particular product. Most of the junk on ebay is just that
