R-134 upgrades - Mark VIII fan

I bought a Lincoln Mark VIII two speed fan today. This fan is part of a R-134 upgrade. Now I need a 454 fan shroud. New shrouds are available from www.lmctruck.com. The new crossflow condensor will go in at the same time.

Wiring
Black wire = ground
Blue wire = low speed (engine cooling probe control)
Orange/black = high speed (A/C relay switch control)

I'm following this shroud setup.

I'm ditching the dual LS1 fans.

You'll like the Mark VIII fan. I had cooling issues, until I put it in. Used the Dakota Digital PAC 2700 controller. Had dual flex-a-lite fans previously, but were not enough to cool the beast.

When I ordered my Vintage Air Gen IV kit a few weeks ago, I specifically upgraded to the crossflow condensor based on reading some of your posts here. Always appreciate the advice you impart.

Engine cooling is not a problem. I need to run mine hot! The aluminum heads perform better if temps are around 195. I may have to a 205 thermostat if the fan cools too much. I may even switch the low/high speed output. I just need more air across the condensor. I'm still not sure how I will close the gap between the condensor and radiator. I may use a cut aluminum plate or plastic.

How well does the cross flow condensor work? What are your controller settings?

We haven't finished the Vintage Air installation. The crossflow will go in this week. We finished the motor, but have not started it yet. Was going to get the VA system installed first.

The fan controller is set to come on low at 180 and high at 195. We may have to adjust that a little with the new AFR aluminum heads.

Whats up Gerardo? I think you will like the new condenser a lot. It's many times more efficient than the stock tube and fin condenser. My A/C is still working good since your friend charged it up. I still have my LS1 fans which are spaced out too far from the radiator, just haven't had time to make new brackets. Anyway, even with the less than optimum air flow the A/C still gets cold. I did use some plastic to close the gap between the condenser and radiator support though, it's definitely worth the extra effort.

Yo, how's school going? I hope to get my A/C recharged before I do a bed off restoration/cleaning/paint. If not, it will be done as soon as my planned work is done.
